Thanks Jamal.

I drove back to Leicester on Friday to catch my Cultural Exchange talks.

It was such a sunny day, I couldn't resist Bede park for a game of football with the boys...the girls just watched.

I was in my element...I hadn't played football in ages and I finally had people to play with...The girls just refused my offers.

It took me back to being about 5 years old again and having my three older brothers dress me in full football strip and put me in the centre of a massive goal with goalkeeper gloves on to fit a male teenager while they pelted balls at me. Those were the days!

Anyway, after successfully erecting a human pyramid, losing the ball in the river, ripping my jeans and getting mud on my vans, it had almost reached 5pm and I needed to get to uni for Jamal Edwards' talk.

The other talks were good, but I knew this one would interest me the most.

With front row seats I thought I'd send Jamal a sneaky little tweet before he entered the room.

"Sitting in room 2.13 waiting for @Jamaledwards. Where are you hiding?"

The talk was brilliant, made up of mostly questions being answered and a few inspirational quotes made by Jamal.

Everyone came out muttering really positive things to one another, Jamal's answer and general feedback was so successful and everyone was buzzing afterwards.

Glued to my twitter, it was going mad with tweets to and from Jamal.

I had received about 10 emails in the space of the hour long talk.

Boom. It turns out Jamal had retweeted my tweet to him which made me instantly gain followers. So I guess what I'm trying to say is...Thanks Jamal.

H.
